On October 12, we will be serving food at the River City Food Bank on Edison Ave in Arden Arcade from 10am-2pm.   Dave Jones needs 12 volunteers.  So far, we only have 4 signed up.  If you can help, please contact Dave. 

 

We will be hosting the Children’s Receiving Home at Old Spaghetti Factory on Friday, October 15 starting at 5:00pm.  All are welcome to attend.

 

Bob Deering gave an update on the successful human trafficking seminar.   Amy showed a video from the seminar about the signal young adults are being taught to indicate that they are being trafficked.  We are each to teach 3 people this week the signal and ask those people to pass it on to three more.

 

Amethyst was on the road again.   The Donhosts brought her along on their trip to Bodega Bay.  She was accompanied by Amarillo, a stuff pet of the Donhosts. 

 

President Amy announced that on October 26, we will have a Halloween contest.  She expects us to dress up in our finest costumes for the day.   

 

President-elect Jim Fritzsche announced that the club raised $5,850 in John Lionakis name at the ALS walk.

 

Once again, the club will be selling poinsettias.   The cost will be $25 for two 6” pots.   Ordering will begin in a few weeks.  It’s time to start asking friends and neighbors if they might want some for Christmas.

 

On November 2, we are going to have a special lunch meeting at the K9 facility at McClellan Park.   This will be the dedication of the new fence project.  The police officers are going to be BBQing lunch for us and telling us about the facility.   

 

John Brown was back home after a few weeks in Sequim, WA.  He surprised the fund master by becoming our latest bell ringer.

Allison Hamaker, Keith McBride and Maria Mengotti told us a little about their careers.  They then spent time discussing how the 4-way test has impacted their careers.

 

Next week is a club assembly.   One of the major topics will be the meal costs.  We are presently spending more for meals then we are collecting and as we all know the cost of food is increasing.   We are expecting an increase in the cost of the food from the restaurant.   There are multiple ways that clubs in our district handle the cost of meals.  We will discuss them and look at the various options.
