- Dec 9th, North Highlands Park and Recreation District sends a big Thank You to our club for supporting their Christmas Store by donating so many lovely items and helping to wrap presents and serve breakfast. Amy Ruggles brought her daughter Sam to wrap gifts. Ray and Allison Hamaker helped wrap gifts, and Tim Hayes served breakfast in the kitchen.
- Dec 11th, George was very pleased with the dinner and helpers for this year’s YWCA holiday meal Monday. We served 24 ladies, our best attendance ever. In the kitchen was George Gomes, Marsha Vacca, Allison Hamaker, Lewie & Becky Donhost, Tim Hayes, Amy Ruggles, and Bob & Chris Deering. Here is a photo of the inside of their thank-you card:
- Dec 16th is our Christmas party at the Watson’s at 5:00 Saturday.
- Dec 23rd is our Salvation Army bellringing. Bill Watson needs three shifts of helpers in the afternoon that Saturday.
- Jan 17th we’ll have the Carmichael club with us - a joint meeting for lunch.
- Feb 24th will be the Crab Feed for the Carmichael club and we’ve reserved 3 tables. Let Peggy Porter Honeyman know if you’d like a seat. It’s at the LaSierra Community Center. Her phone is (916) 947-8848 and her email is pportersac@aol.com
- Happy Dollars & Bellringers:
- Kevin Wilcox thanked the lovely Chris Deering for delivering his poinsettias and was very happy that his wife will be retiring early this coming June.
- Maria Mengotti was also happy that Chris delivered her poinsettias.
- Jim Shaw said he and his wife are thankful for their precious circle of friends and for their faith.
- Bell Ringers for the 23/24 year at $100, no immunity: Kevin Wilcox, Don Brodeur, Randy Smith, Bob Deering, Jack Kimmel, Tim Hayes, Dave Jones, Bill Watson, Hanns Haesslein, La’Mond Harrison.
- Our room was decorated beautifully by Jim. Allison Hamaker brought plates of homemade cookies to share. Santa distributed freshly prepared season salt to each person, made by Ray & Allison Hamaker from a family recipe. This is the season! And each person who brought a gift to share got to visit Santa to pick a gift. We opened them and enjoyed the surprises.
