We were called to order by President Amy with flag salute lead by Lew Wahl.   Guests present were our speaker Rebecca Richardson, Sacramento County Waste Management and a coworker.  On Zoom were Kipp Johnson, Dick Hall, Clarence Parkins, and Sandy Sava.

 

Thought for the Day  was a Rotary Video highlighting Action Groups and the resources available for People of Action projects.

 

Fun Master Laura Pajak was present today, aka Laura Vadar of Money Collecting!!!  First target    

   - Betsy Gade.  She made the news for her successful help reclaiming Social

     Security benefits for a local homeless.  No good deed goes unpunished - $20.  

     Then for holding an office party without inviting building mate Laura Pajak -  $5

   -  Chris Deering – Proudly presented her with the Immunity Certificate as an

      official Bell Ringer.  

       Then immediately recognized Chris for $20 that was passed right back to Laura!

       Got Lucky!

   - Bill Watson – Birthday in Maui, 73^rd birthday.  Being immune, it was passed to

     Don Brodeur.

   - Carroll Dudley was recognized for winning too many raffles this year!  The nerve

     of him!!!  $5 which he rolled to Char Rea.

 

Honduras Water Project has been fully funded at $400,000.   ESR was a big participant in this.

 

ESR Social – Bill Watson reported on last Saturdays Sac Brew Bike event.  Was a raging success!  A  lively event with fun, music, booze, and corn hole!  Paula Smith holds the record as corn hole champion!   Was really a treat day.  Thanks for all who attended.  

 

The April Social (aka Fire Pit Friday) will be held at the home of Bill and Kelly Watson.  April 29, 5:30 pm.  NOTE:  This is a Saturday evening.  Bill will open the wine cellar, grill some steaks.  Those attending will provide the appetizers, salad, side dishes, and desserts.  A sign-up sheet will be passed around starting next meeting.  

 

 

•June 24 - Demotion of our esteemed Prez will be on June 24, Del Paso Country Club.  Snazzy!!!  Our Prez will be fulfilling the Salvation Army Bell Ringing commitment that evening.  Mark your calendars.  You don’t want to miss this one!

Charley Rae introduced Rebecca Richardson, Sac County Depart. of Waste Management.  Rebecca educated us on the new Organic Waste program in our area.  All organic materials, soiled paper goods (paper towels, pizza boxes, etc.) are considered organic waste.  See the complete list at their website.  The goal of the program is to reduce carbon emissions.  Organic Waste is to be places in your green waste containers and will be collected every week.  

 

Much conversation about what is organic waste, and ways to eliminate offensive orders.
