Tax & Accounting Minute - The IRS has a Get Out of Jail card for a 1st time abatement of fines. To qualify, you must have a clean record for the past three years and show reasonable cause for the situation. Unfortunately, the FTB does not offer the same provision.
Happy Dollars - Amy Ruggles's daughter graduates from McGeorge on Saturday. Mark Beil is impressed with us as a group. Bob Deering was at the District Conference and listened to our International President, who was amazing. Chris Deering asks us to pray for those who were hurt in the Singapore Airlines turbulance disaster this past week. It affected a Rotarian who broke her back, and her child who broke a vertebrae. Bill Baxter has a grandson graduating from Jesuit on Friday. Jack Kimmel put in some money asking for the music to be turned down. George Abraham's son is graduating from the University of Arizona.

The Golf Tournament will be June 14th at Ancil Hoffman. Come at 11:00 for lunch. Tee off at 1:00.
Tim Hayes tells us we'll be meeting at La Rosa Blanca next week at 6:00 pm on Tuesday night for a social in lieu of a speaker meeting.

Ryan Jantzen said an "Ethics in Leadership" seminar for high school youth will be held March 20, 2025 hosted by Folsom Rotary. We are invited to participate with our InterAct students. It is patterned after the 4-way test.
Speaker - Ryan Jantzen is our AG for Area 3; he has been a member of the Rotary Club of Folsom since 1994. Ryan is our district chairman for blood donation. When you give blood, you'll get a checkup at the same time. You can save a life. You can donate whole blood, platelets, or plasma. Blood takes only about 10 minutes to draw, while platelets take 90 minutes. Platelets help cancer patients. When Vitalent was first established in 1948 as the Blood Bank, it was possible to create accounts. When one of our members needed blood, they could draw from Rotary donations. Now we all donate for the greater good, and specific accounts are not kept. It takes eight weeks to rebuild your blood supply between donations. Thirty-six thousand units of red blood cells are needed every day in the United States. Vitalent will text you to tell you when your blood is being used to bless someone. Ryan suggests that we might like to go to one of the private companies that pay for draws, then for us to give that money to our foundation.
