St. Paddy’s Day:  We celebrated St. Patrick’s Day a few days early.  Those who didn’t wear green got fined a dollar.  We got green beer and mint chocolate ice cream curtesy of President Amy.  We also played a couple of games.  Sandi Sava won for guessing the closest to the number of leprechauns.  She guessed 31, there were 34.

The other contest consisted of finding words in a puzzle.   Of those who filled it out correctly, Chris Deering, Dick Hall, Vicky and Jay Boatright, were selected to determine who would win a Monstera plant.  They had to play a game of charades.   Vicky ended up the winner.

Happy dollars:  Fundmaster Laura was absent.  President Amy took it easy on the crowd and only got Lewie Donhost for $1 for having his phone go off at a previous meeting.

Bell Ringers for 22-23 year:  John Brown, Hanns Haesslein, Allison Hamaker, Maria Mengotti, Jack Kimmel, Kim Walker, Don Brodeur, Bill Watson, Carol Dudley, Peggy Porter Honeyman, Bob Deering, Keith McBride, Marsha Vacca, Randy Smith and George Gomes.

Beer Bike:  On March 25, from 2-4pm, we will be riding the beer bike in mid-town.  Cost will be $45 per person.  Only 4 have signed up so far and the bike holds 15.  Let Chris Deering know if you want to participate.

Hosini:  Amethyst’s pup Hosini got to go on a trip by himself.  Dave Jones and his family took him to Dillon Beach.

District Conference:  Lewie reminded us that the District Conference is on May 4th through the 6th.  Plan on attending.

River City Food Bank: Saturday we are at the River City Food Bank.

Speaker for the day: Paul Selsky, Director of the Carmichael Water District gave us an update on water issues affecting our area and the state.  The District gets most of its water from the American River but also gets some from groundwater.   In 2014, 2015 and 2021, they were not allowed to take water from the river so they had to get all the water from wells.   Because of contamination by Aerojet, they can’t drill more wells.   They are investigating merging with Sacramento Suburban Water District.  Sac Suburban gets their water from the aquifer that runs up past Marysville.

Projections are that the snow will be melting sooner due to climate change.  He expects to see major restrictions on water usage by state agencies.

Raffle: Carrol Dudley won the raffle again.  I think this is his 4th time, including last week.
