President Amy was back from her trip to Turks and Caicos. She abandoned Amethyst in Sacramento but took Amethyst kids instead. She gave a lame excuse about not having room for her.
Firepit social: Marsh Vacca has volunteered her home to host this month’s Firepit. The firepit is the last Friday of the month. It will be January 27. It is a potluck. We will hear more details next week.
Happy dollars: Funmaster Laura Pajak was back but took it easy on the club. President-Elect go hit for $40 for announcing that his business has been sold and he will now be an employee. The Lews, Donhost and Wahl, got recognized for Sac State’s football success.
Bell Ringers for 22-23 year: John Brown, Hanns Haesslein, Maria Mengotti, Jack Kimmel, Kim Walker, Don Brodeur, Bill Watson, Carol Dudley, Peggy Porter Honeyman, Bob Deering, Keith McBride and George Gomes.
Community Service: We will again be handing out food at the River City Food Bank. On February 16, we will be at the mid-town location from 10am-2pm. On March 18, we will be at the Arden-Arcade location.
Children’s Receiving Home: This Monday, Jim Fritzsche, is taking a few children to the Globetrotters game. If anyone wants to attend, Jim says to meet at the box office around noon. The game starts at 1:00.
Speech Contest: Youth services chairperson, George Gomes, announced that the Speech contest will be help on March 1 as part of our regular club meeting.
Fundraiser: Bob Deering announced our big fundraiser for the year. It will be on June 3 from 5-9 at Minors Leap Winery in Clarksburg. Minors Leap is getting a band that will play 70’s and 80’s music. Cost will be $50 per ticket. We are going to do this fundraiser with the Rotary Club of Clarksburg.
There will be a few tables to sit at for the sponsors, otherwise you will sit on the lawn. You can bring your own chair. You can sponsor a table for 6 for $1,000. If you want to sponsor the event, it will cost $3,000.
Where we make the most money is from the silent auction. Now is the time to start lining up items or packages that we can auction.
More details will be forth coming as we finalize the event.

Meal Cost: Beginning February 1, the cost of our lunches will increase to $25 per meal. Our present charges for the meals were not covering the cost of the food.
Turks and Cacios: President Amy spent the New Year’s vacationing in Turks and Caicos. She tried to get us to forget about the mistreatment of Amethyst by getting us drunk. She served the drink of the island, Aperol Spritz. She then had a contest to see who knew the most about the island. Dick Hall won and went home with more booze so he can make Aperol Spritz’s at home.
