Rotary Motto: Service Above Self
This year, American River Rotary has plans for a number of community service projects. There are many already on our calendar and many more in the early planning stages.
Check our calendar for specific details on location and time for each project as more details are tied down.
Whether you are a member of our club or not, everyone is welcome to come and help us make positive, long-lasting changes in our community as we serve others.
Current planned projects:
- July - Supporting the addition of electrical work and lighting at the Sacramento K-9 Training Center at McClellan Park
- August 16 - Maintenance for the Oak Park Rotary House
- September - Dictionaries for 3rd graders
- November - Pumpkins delivered to children at the North Highlands Community Center
- December - Dinner for residents of the YWCA, Red Kettle Bell-ringing for Salvation Army at Bel-Air (corner of Arden Way and Eastern Ave, Sacramento), and gift wrap service for children at the North Highlands Community Center
- February 21 - Blood Drive at Del Norte Club, 7:00 am to 3:00 pm, at 3040 Becerra Way, Sacramento
- March - supporting the Assistance League's Night at the Races fundraiser
- June - supporting the Easter Seals Golf Tournament
Projects in the planning stages:
- Starr King Elementary School improvements and focus on teacher appreciation
- Tahoe Elementary School greenhouse maintenance
- Salvation Army trellis gazebo awning replacement and shed painting
- Soil Born Farms improvements and volunteer maintenance
- Effie Yeaw snake enclosure, signage, and stair repair
