Welcome
President Jenny Hemly opened the meeting by welcoming everyone and reminding members that anyone who brought spare reading glasses could leave them on the table at the rear of the room. Members then sang My Country ‘Tis of Thee and the Idaho State Song, and recited the Pledge of Allegiance. David Cornell was at the piano.
Singing After reining in David Cornell’s enthusiasm at the piano, Bill Agler announced the song and then led the Club in R*O*T*A*R*Y.
Reading glasses donation:
Members are invited to donate surplus reading glasses* to their local clinics on March 19. They will be used by others needing such glasses.

Happy Dollars (all donations to Polio Plus Fund). Phil Brubaker was happy that Bruce Mills had volunteered (or was volunteered?) to become the Club Treasurer. Thank you, Bruce!

Mayor Lauren McLean
Boise Mayor Lauren McLean is committed to creating a city for everyone and has worked tirelessly toward that goal, advocating for open space conservation, tackling housing and homelessness side by side with the community, and leading nationally acclaimed climate action efforts.
Mayor McLean was sworn in on January 7, 2020. She is the 56th mayor of Boise and the first woman elected to that position in the city’s 150-year history. She is passionate about public service, leading boldly with the community at the forefront of every decision.
As Mayor, she leads the fight against climate change, setting ambitious goals to secure an environmentally and economically resilient future for Boise. Her vision is to create a city that is truly for everyone – one that offers equitable access to housing, living wage jobs, transportation, and a seat at the table for residents when decisions about the future of Boise are being made.

Trivia TimeIn a shameless (but very fun) pitch for members to buy &/or sell District Rotary Raffle tickets President Elect Sean Wall had everyone playing Trivia for candy prizes. Seemed to work because several members picked up their allotment after the meeting – plenty of tickets are still available!
