The Rotary Club of Lahaina hosted a year-end social at Napili Point open to all West Side Rotarians including The Rotary Club of Lahaina, The Rotary Club of Lahaina Sunrise, and The Rotary Club of Lahaina Sunset.  It was a great time for all and we watched the sunset while President Darryl Ng bartended and all participants brought great pupus for our potlock!  We hope to do more socials together to create further fellowship among fellow Rotarians!

The Rotary Club of Lahaina along with the awesome staff at the Whaler, a luxury condiminum on Kaanapali beach, installed televisions in 15 classrooms at Lahaina Intermediate School.  Our Rotary club heard about the need for the installations when we were told that although TVs were delivered over a year ago, they were being strapped to carts because of the high cost to install (The DOE had received bids for upwards of $1000 per room!).  Rotary Club of Lahaina members including President Darryl Ng, President Elect Kalei Jaramillo, and Service Chair and PP Mila Salvador (Who is General Manager at the Whaler), along with whaler team members were able to install all TVs in 5 hours.  We are very grateful to the Whaler for helping us with the needs of our local Intermediate school.  The school will no longer have to worry about broken TV's on their carts!

The Rotary Club of Lahaina prides itself on the partnerships we have made with clubs in the Philippines to bring school supplies to needy children, and to provide clean drinking water and sanitation to areas that have none.  Believe it or not, many schools in the Philippines, even in the most developed of areas, lack access to clean water and sanitation for those that cannot afford it.

On Monday October 30, 2017 members of the Rotary Club of Lahaina, Rotary Club of Lahaina Sunrise, and Rotary Club of Lahaina Sunset all got together to get ready for the BIG Halloween Parade!  We stuffed 500 goodie bags with candy and toys to give out to all the keiki who are in the costume contest.  We also had help from the Maui Preperatory Academy in getting our Rotary Float put together.  It was a wonderful time of getting together with all the Rotary Clubs of Lahaina to "Make a Difference"!

Mahalo to all who were able to help, and we hope to see everyone at the Halloween Parade!!

On Thursday, April 27, 2017, The Rotary Club of Lahaina invited all of our 2017 scholarship recipients to our weekly luncheon meeting.  Representing Lahainaluna High School, Molokai High and Maui Prep Academy, 11 recipients were able to join us, with four unable to attend.  The Maui Prep students were joined by long-time MPA advisor Keenan Reader, and Lahainaluna's acting Principal Daniel Espaniola was onhand to support his students.

In all, these students received a total of $21,000 to help them begin this new phase in their lives.  We wish them all the best of everything.

We've always known Maui is filled to the brim with wonderful friends and neighbors, and your generosity and spirit of good fun has proved it true, once again.  The Rotary Club of Lahaina held a special event at the Lahaina Yacht Club on Saturday, April 1, 2017 and the support was beyond measure.  Through attendance, participation in a silent auction and a "suggested donation"drawing, you helped us raise over $3000 for our scholarship fund!

On Saturday, April 15, the scholarship committee interviewed 14 high school seniors - from West Maui and the island of Molokai - and thanks to you - we were able to award ... wait.  You have to wait until after the three schools hold their award ceremonies!  We'll let you know which students were awarded.  But in the meantime, please enjoy some photos of the event...

Mahalo, Maui!!! Instant Wine Cellar Social a great success 2017-04-19 10:00:00Z 0

Do you enjoy a nice bottle of wine?  If so, then you might really enjoy helping us with our Second Annual Instant Wine Cellar event!  For a suggested donation of just $10 per ticket, you could be a lucky winner.  First place receives 30 bottles, second place receives 20 and third place receives ten.  Now this isn't just any old wine; it's all good quality.

Not a wine lover but plan on being in Lahaina on Saturday, April 1?  Would you like to join us at the Lahaina Yacht Club for our social?  $25 per person, which includes "endless pupu" table.  The bar is no host.  If you're interested, email MartiRotary@yahoo.com for details.

Stocking up on school supplies can be a daunting task, particularly for families who have several keiki in school at the same time.  To help alleviate the financial impact, our Maui Rotary Clubs sponsor a School Supply Drive each year.  Generally held the last weekend in July at various locations island-wide, the supplies and monetary donations are collected and distributed our schools within our respective areas.

The three Lahaina Clubs each hold their own drive, but then pool their resources and distribute equally among the West Maui elementary schools.

Here are some photos from start to finish:  Our Rotary Club of Lahaina volunteers who collected the items, the volunteers from all three Lahaina Rotary Clubs who organized and distributed the collections, and finally ... RCL volunteers delivering the goods to Princess Nahienaena Elementary School.  In addition to these supplies, we collected $300 for their use, as needed.

Just another modest example of Rotary Serving Humanity.  Mahalo to all ...

Mahalo, Maui, for making our fundraiser such a smashing success!  Click on "Photos" to see some of the fun.

We're in the process on finalizing a great community project, made possible by the generosity of those who supported this event.  Stay tuned ...

It's time to party like it's 1975! There will be music, singing, dancing, food, contests and more ... If you remember the 70s, take a trip down memory lane. If you weren't born yet, come see what you missed. No Host bar, silent auction, a costume contest, funked up farm food from Chris and his Shark Pit team and outstanding music by Maui's own Djblast himself - Bud Galarita.

Advance tickets $20 per person ($25 at the door)

How many tickets do you want? You can contact any member of the Rotary Club of Lahaina, pick them up at Shark Pit Social Club, or purchase via Paypal (see button in the far right column).  If you choose PayPal, be sure to add your name in the comments section, so your tickets will be waiting for you at the door!

And remember ... events like this help us fund scholarships, food drives, community projects and so much more ... you rock, Maui.
