Sacramento Rotary Softball Demolishes Pt. West 17-2
The Rotary Club of Sacramento improved their record to 3-0 with a convincing victory over rival Pt. West 17-2 Monday evening at the Sacramento Sports Complex.

In attendance were Executive Director, Chris Winger and her husband, Nordon.  "What a beautiful evening," Chris said as she enjoyed the cool evening from the shade of the bleachers.   "I need a program to identify the players since I only know them from the meetings when they are wearing blazers and ties".

And blazing they did--with their bats.  Jumping to a quick 6-0 lead in the first inning led by Kevin "boom boom" Fat, who bounced one off the right field fence to score 3 quick runs.   And the runs kept coming with rookies, David Lowe and Jay Lowden supplying plenty of offense.  Leadoff hitter, Mike Miklaus had another 3-hit night as did Jim CulletonFrank Geremia continues to impress with the bat, but not his hat, adding 3 hits.   Kevin Smith-Fagan had 2 hits and played a solid shortstop.   Pitcher, John Swentowsky, filled in nicely for first dude Hal Bartholomew, who had other pressing obligations.  Only 2 runs Hal…take your time returning.  Outfielder, Lorcan Barnes kept would be base runners from advancing with nice defensive plays, as did second baseman and former interim manager Bob "00" Daly.

Also cheering for the blue and gold (our colors) were Jim Martin and Barbara Swentowsky.

The next game is Monday, July 12th, at 6:30 vs. Elk Grove.  Come and enjoy the cool summer evenings in the shade and cheer for the blue and gold!
