As the calendar turns to October the activity level in our Club is certainly increasing.  I will mention many of those opportunities in a moment, but first a few THANK YOUS.

President-Elect Ken Noack was pleased to return safely from his recent travels to North Korea and made a contribution to his next Eddie Mulligan and Paul Harris. Past-Emperor Wes Yee was proud to celebrate 25 years of marriage and also made a contribution to both Eddie Mulligan and Paul Harris.  Kevin Smith-Fagan added to his Eddie Mulligan while humorously retelling a situation from a recent funeral where your Club President and sometime clergy was able to rescue him from certain embarrassment.  Many thanks also to Bill Badham our meeting sponsor from Umpqua Bank.

Top of the upcoming calendar is next Monday, October 4 for our annual Golf 4 Kids event at Wildhorse Golf Club in Davis.  As you know this is one of our two major fund raising events of the year.  Our goal is to raise $50,000 to meet the requests of the four schools serving orthopedically challenged children in our community.  Steve Raymond continues to do a tireless job with leading this committee as together we seek to making a lasting positive difference in the lives of these children and their families.

Another event on the near horizon is the Piano/Organ Concert coming up on Sunday, October 10 at 7 pm.  This concert is jointly sponsored by the Rotary Club of Sacramento Foundation and L17 Community Arts Foundation.  Tickets are $25 and can be purchased through the St. John's Lutheran Church website who is hosting the event.  http://stjohnslc.org/attesti-galli

I look forward to seeing you out on the golf course next week, and if you can't make it, you can always just send your money!

President Scot
