Jonathan Raymond is the Sacramento City Unified School District's 25th superintendent. The district serves 48, 132 K-12 students, with more than 71 percent eligible for free or reduced-price lunch. Sacramento City Unified is one of the most diverse school systems in the nation and is the state's 12th largest district.

He brings wide-ranging and relevant professional experience coupled with a strong commitment to diversity, students, parents, and community engagement to his role as leader of a major urban California school district. Jonathan is an advocate and practitioner of data-driven decision making.

Prior to joining SCUSD in 2009, Jonathan had served as chief accountability officer at Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools in North Carolina. His work there included launching a Microsoft award-winning data system that made school performance and results more accessible to parents and the public. He also worked on major initiatives such as performance management, school quality reviews and school progress reports.
