Rotary International Changes that affect the "Rule of 85".
Rotary International has changed the "Rule of 85" effective July 1, 2010.  The new qualifications are as follows:

Article 9 Attendance
Section 3 —
Excused Absences. A member's absence shall be excused if (b) the age of the member is 65 and above and the aggregate of the member's years of age and years of membership in one or more clubs is 85 years or more and the member has notified the club secretary in writing of the member's desire to be excused from attendance and the board has approved.


For those current members of the Rotary Club of Sacramento who were already exempt from attendance under the prior rule will maintain their exemption.  However, any members that are not currently exempt must now apply under the new rule.
