Beth Hassett - WEAVE

As the CEO of WEAVE, Beth leads the charge to build a community that does not tolerate sexual assault, domestic violence and sex trafficking and offers victims the support they need to be safe and thrive. Under her direction WEAVE has added seven new housing facilities for victims of domestic violence and sex trafficking, built a team of response advocates to provide mobile advocacy to victims in the community, dramatically expanded legal, prevention education and counseling services, and opened recycled fashion stores to support clients and programs.  In 2016 the Congressional Victim’s Rights Caucus honored Beth with the Ed Stout Memorial Award for Outstanding Victim Advocacy and she received the Soroptimist International of Sacramento Ruby Award. Other honors include the 2014 C. Rick Chamberlin Award from the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers and the 2013 Valley Vision Community Leadership Award. She was named one of the 2012 Women Who Mean Business, received the 2011 Director’s Community Leadership Award from the Federal Bureau of Investigation, was the 2008 Public Relations Professional of the Year, and the 2004 Outstanding Fundraising Executive. An active community volunteer, she is Vice Chair of the Sacramento First 5, Treasurer of the California Coalition Against Sexual Assault (CALCASA), a member of the HomeAid, Midtown Association and Sacramento Theater Company Boards of Directors and serves on the KVIE Community Advisory Board. She is a frequent local, regional and national presenter on the topics of fundraising, marketing, non-profit management, and violence prevention and intervention. She has two daughters and lives in Sacramento with her husband Kevin and pug Demetrius.

Established in 1978, WEAVE provides crisis intervention and prevention services to women, men and children in Sacramento County who are victims of domestic violence, sexual assault or human trafficking.
