We will be planting a pollinator garden under the instruction of the farm owner.

Our club has been awarded a district grant to design and install a pollinator garden in West Sacramento. This will be known as the pollinator garden at Killdeer Farms. This garden is more than just a pretty space – it’s an ecosystem at work, designed to rehabilitate heavy clay soil, support native pollinators, restore biodiversity, and build resilience against severe weather. By planting California native plants and other deep-rooted perennials, we’re helping nature rebuild itself, one flower and bug at a time.
Once installed, the garden will be open to visitors who will learn fascinating facts about soil, plants, and the biodiversity they support via educational materials and self-guided tours. Guests can linger, observe, and let curiosity lead the way!

This is a wonderful opportunity to get outdoors, connect with fellow Rotarians, and learn to identify our local wildflowers with the help of an expert guide. 🥾 Hike Details: A 3-mile hike at a leisurely pace (approx. 2–2.5 hours) with plenty of stops to admire and learn about the wildflowers.
