DESCRIPTION:Join fellow Rotarians in a day of Service at Killdeer Farms in 
 West Sacramento.   We will be planting a pollinator garden under the inst
 ruction of the farm owner.   SERVICE DAY INFORMATION   Location: 4951 Je
 fferson Blvd\, West Sacramento\, CA 95691 There is ample parking on Armfie
 ld Avenue\; signs will be out  Time: 8:30am- 12pm Come ready to plant\, an
 d feel free to stay for an optional BYO lunch on the farm afterwards.  Thi
 ngs to Know: What to Wear: It is recommended to dress in layers and wear h
 ats and sunscreen. Pants for bending and kneeling\, and comfortable shoes 
 for gardening and yard work are essential.  What should we bring: Extra t
 ools\, specifically digging shovels -- not hand spades -- will be critical
 . Two or three additional rock rakes would also be helpful for moving bark
  around the plants once they're in the ground. Food and Drink: Please brin
 g your own water! The service project is from 8:30am-12pm\, with the optio
 n to stay for a BYO picnic lunch at noon. If you plan to join for lunch\, 
 please bring your own lunch.    We are looking for 10-15 Rotarians to joi

 district grant to design and install a pollinator garden in West Sacrament
 o. This will be known as the pollinator garden at Killdeer Farms. This ga
 rden is more than just a pretty space – it’s an ecosystem at work\, de
 signed to rehabilitate heavy clay soil\, support native pollinators\, rest
 ore biodiversity\, and build resilience against severe weather. By plantin
 g California native plants and other deep-rooted perennials\, we’re help
 ing nature rebuild itself\, one flower and bug at a time.   Once installe
 d\, the garden will be open to visitors who will learn fascinating facts a
 bout soil\, plants\, and the biodiversity they support via educational mat
 erials and self-guided tours. Guests can linger\, observe\, and let curios
 ity lead the way!
