Wednesday, Nov. 7:

Michelle Mulally, president of The Rotary Club of Canton, joined President John Fahnert in promoting the Rotary Foundation Art Auction on Friday, Feb. 1 at The Soap Gallery, 117 S. Champion St., Youngstown. This event is for all Rotarians in District 6650. Proceeds will support Rotary Foundation projects. Mulally, who also is president and CEO of the Canton Symphony, said Rotarians can support this effort not only by attending, but also by contributing art works for the auction.

In observance of Veterans' Day, Rotarians were invited to share stories of their military experiences. Six Rotarians discussed their service at home and abroad and during wars in Vietnam, the Persian Gulf and Afghanistan.

President-elect Dave Stillwagon and Club Secretary Josh Prest updated members on the Groundhog Day Beerfest, a new community fundraiser by the Rotary Club of Youngstown. The event will be on Feb. 2 at Stambaugh Auditorium in two sessions, during the afternoon and evening. Craft beers from national, regional and local breweries will be sampled. Admission tickets will go on sale later this month. In the meantime, all Rotarians are being asked to secure event sponsors. Hard copies of sponsorship materials were distributed during the meeting and via email. See Stillwagon, Prest or District Governor Scott Schulick for more information.
