Wednesday, July 22nd: 
Our program was Michael R. Cox a Detective Sgt of 21.5 years from the Youngstown Police Dept.  Currently assigned to Detective Bureau and mainly investigate crimes committed against a person. He is currently the President of Youngstown Police Ranking Organization, President of Struthers School Foundation for Educational Excellence and the former Vice President of Struthers Rotary Community Corps. 
 
 
Detective Cox spoke in very frank terms about the current tensions between police officers and minority communities. He acknowledged that issues such as racism and concentrated multi-generational poverty are legitimate problems that police officers need to factor in when engaging people during calls. The officer's safety is an important consideration when responding to people during calls.
