Brittany Barney, leader of the Winter Nights Basketball Program for Girls, stopped by to share her story of the AAU program. In its second year this program offers middle and high school girls many opportunities when participating in a high-level competitive basket ball program ..... expand basketball skills, travel to new places, grow more confident and become more comfortable with meeting new people. Two to three days per week, practices give the players time to enhance their individual skills, to learn how to push through difficulties and to be an effective team member. The Winter Nights Basketball Program also helps to keep the players safe with a constructive activity - one that supports goal development and exposure to college-level coaches. Thanks to Brittany and her team for supporting these girls. We also were visited by Jim and Diane Lubin from the Middletown NY Rotary Club. We always welcome members from other clubs when they're in the Lake Placid area as we enjoy hearing about the activities of different Rotary clubs.
