Hello Daybreakers,
 
At this week’s meeting our guest speaker was Sergio Bacchetti.  After Sergio remembered the password to the laptop, he entertained us with his and Jenny’s slide show on their recent trip to Europe.  We were given a very informative mini history, architecture and art lesson.  We were all somewhat bemused when Serge went on to discuss how beautiful the Spanish ladies are.
Thankfully Jenny helped keep Serge on track while they were visiting with past youth exchange student Axelle and her family.
 
 
Next week we will hear from Sue Cassidy and then Bob Jeans will take us on a Journey with his “Where in the World” is Bob Q&A.
 
A reminder that the last club meeting for the calendar year will be our Christmas meeting held at Andrew & Betty Sugget’s on Wednesday December 19th. Jan will organise the coffee van to arrive as per last year.
 
On Saturday the club held its Christmas Party at Ree and Glenn Rundell’s, judging by the volume of conversations, all in attendance enjoyed the day.  Many of us enjoyed Glenn’s hole in one competition with Andrew getting closest to the pin for the boys and Mary had us all gob smacked with her hole-in-one for the ladies.  Despite the late arrival of Chris and Janey, the winners were declared.  My thanks go to Ree and Glenn for allowing us to use their home for this year’s event, I am also sure you will join me in thanking Jan for our wonderful meal and Alison for organising the event.
 
 
Hillside Markets. This Sunday was the 2nd of three markets and Warrnambool turned on a cracker of a day weather-wise.   The market was well attended, and we were well entertained musically. Andrew Suggett was kept busy selling his art Whilst Harpo, Bob, Mary, Alison, Liza and myself attempted to look busy.  I believe we have the start of a good strategy with this market, Alison has started a wonderful donation program for our Charity with the Gift Certificates, Harpo has done well to introduce the Timboon Ice Creams as a point of difference and when we further develop our book stall this will be a worthwhile future event for our Club.  With a little more social media promotion, and on-site promotional material this market may well prove to be a long-term proposition.
 
Homeless Program.  This week we catered for 4 males, 1 female. 8 loads of washing and 7 Dryers. Attending Rotarians, Sue Cassidy, Sergio, Janey and Chris looked on as Serge cooked the sausages to perfection while the resident magpies kept us entertained.
 
The club’s commitment to this program continues, we are awaiting feedback from other organisations in the community before we can give updates on venues during the “Festive” season.   Hopefully we will get positive feedback early next week.  In the meantime, it is important that you check your diaries, for OH&S plus insurance purposes we must have the rostered members present.
 
Upcoming Board meeting.  The Board is due to meet on Thursday December 13th, if you have something you wish discussed please send me an email or catch up at the next club meeting.

LAUGHTER, THE BEST MEDICINE

Did you know on the Canary Islands there is not one canary?
 
And on the Virgin Islands?  Same thing, not one canary either.

Wayne and Caz are staggering home from the Pub. Outside a dress shop, Caz says "Wayne, if you love me you'll get me that green dress", so Wayne puts a brick through the shop window and gives Caz the green dress.
 
Later, outside a hat shop, Caz says to Wayne, "If you love me, you'll get me that red hat", so Wayne puts another brick through the hat shop window and gives Caz the red hat.
 
Next the lovely couple find themselves outside a shoe shop, and Caz says to Wayne, "If you love me, you'll get me those purple Italian shoes", and suddenly Wayne protested, "Caz, do you think I'm made of bricks ?".
