Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation donate $2 for every $1 we raise and donate to End Polio. that turns our $1 into $3, Great opportunity and worth doing. If we can sell $1000 worth off tickets then that becomes $3000 to support Polio Plus.
We need to sell a minimum of 50 tickets or we have to pay the theatre $500. SCARY.

Great to see Stephen Bellamy join us at Frolic Lane for a quiet drink and amazing pizza. 12 Daybreakers and 2 guests had a enjoyable night.
Wednesday September 24th.
The GHCMA talk to the 4 Warrnambool clubs and Port Fairy Club to bring us all up to date with revegetation on rivers program and the planting we have contributed to at the Bromfield Street site over the last 2 years was a great success. We had members from ALL clubs present, 71 in total. Sadly we were the smallest represented club with only 7 members. I had the opportunity to be MC for the evening which was enjoyable, I caught up with Rotarians from all those present that I have got to know over my 37 years Rotary history. The mix of Rotarians was one of deep conversation and laughter across the room, it was a pleasure to be there and enjoy the meal which was delightful. Chicken Filo and Roast Beef with sweets, Lots of positive feedback on the food. I have passed on thanks to Adrian at the RSL about the meal and service, no complaints and positive comments on how great the evening was with all clubs coming together for a meal.
GHCMA, presentation made us all realise how much has actually been done and will continue to be done on all our local rivers.
Chris Wilson ( Project Manager - Rivers of Warrnambool Project ) spoke to us about the revegetation of the river banks and fencing to stop cattle getting to the waters edge, before and after photos certainly opened your eyes to the improvements that have been done.
Stephen Ryan (Senior Waterways Officer) spoke to us about the extensive native fish life in water ways and how the improvements of revegetation has helped the fish. Before and after monitoring of fish species shows the fish have moved further up the Merri since the Bromfield St weir was removed for this very reason in 2023.
Both presenters used power point presentations and the before and after photos certainly reinforces that what GHCMA are doing is beneficial to making sure our waterways are healthy and going to be for the next generation.
Brooke McLeod, ( on the left) from RC Warrnambool did a 20 minute presentation prior to GHCMA on the outcome for the NYSF program and Science & Engineering Challenge.
Brooke has sponsors but is looking for another major Sponsor, do we know anyone who fits that request.
NYSF: Racheal Waterhouse ( Right of photo), a past NYSF student spoke to us about what she got out of the program and how it has given her contacts and a friendship base with like minded vocational aspirations.
Science and Engineering Challenge: Brooke indicated she needs more support and funding for the program for next year at Deakin Uni. This year she introduce the junior schools into the second day and feels it was a, huge success. But this brings extra cost and need of more volunteer help.
Thanks Brooke for what you do for the Youth of this district.
OAKS DAY LUNCHEON
Daybreak are holding an Oaks Day Luncheon at the RSL. We are looking for your support to make this day an exciting place to be on the 6th November. We will have the live broadcast on the big screen and Sweeps on every race. There will be prizes for fashions on the carpet, this will not be for the best dressed, it could be for the best high heels. I've heard that,Glenn has been digging into the back of his shoe cupboard, looking for that special pair of heels he strutted about in years ago.

$5.00 per ticket and our clubs gets to keep $3.50.
