4 Daybreakers; Cheryl, Ann, Janey and Chris headed north on Sunday 6th July to attend the district governors changeover in Nhill. Christine Dufty is the District Governor for the next 12 months. An early start to be there by 12 noon, through kangaroo country, Janey counted 27 dead roos on the road side between Cavendish and Horsham.

 

 

4 Daybreakers, President Elect Ian Harper and wife Marita along with Past President Janey Preston and Past President Chris Preston attended the Rotary International Convention in Calgary. Convention events started on Saturday 21st June and went through until Thursday 26th June. We came away from Calgary with appreciation of how big the world of Rotary actually is. 15,000 attendees from 150 represented countries attended. The fellowship and friendly atmosphere was abound, rotarians were keen to talk to you and share ideas about their clubs and activities. International Conventions just open your eyes to the bigger picture of Rotary and what it actually achieves with the 1.4 million members. A great saying I heard at a previous convention, Rotarians are ordinary people doing extraordinary things.
