On Wednesday Oct. 25th . We had Peter McLauchlan from WCC, Peter is the Economic Development Project & Business Support Officer.
It was a very interesting talk actually, a talk that could have ended up being full of statistics and quickly become boring, In fact Peter presented very well and kept members attentive and interested
Some of the more interesting points were.
W/Bool is not a high income area.
Regional population is 105,636 (75 km radius)
City pop is 35,589 Data is approximately 2 years old
Average age of residents is 42.
60-64 year old is the biggest group.
All groups up to 74 are only separated by a very small margin.
Most households are only 2 people (Retired couples?)
199 individual homes have more than 6 occupants
46% of people have completed at least year 12
Only 3% of business premises are vacant.
Unemployment is 2%.
135 homes are registered as Air BnB.
The biggest draw for tourists is Deep Blue Bath House & Day Spa.?
Glenn Rundell:
Wednesday November1st. Glenn explained how he only became an Engineer because his mates brother was an Engineer and Glenn thought that sounded interesting, after much partying and good time at uni, Glenn finally achieved his goal and has been involved in Engineering for 50 years now. Glenn retired from local government employment at Warrnambool City Council 15 years ago and has been a consulting engineer to council and Moyne shire since then, He showed us some interesting slides on projects he has been involved with around Warrnambool and District.

Bowls Night on Friday 27th October:
Great night was had by all those that attended this fundraiser, Hosted by RC Cobden, this 10 person club certainly lifted the bar high and raised $1100.00 for
Say No to Domestic & Family Violence. Daybreak came away as winners for the night thanks to our secret weapon Ian Harper.
Warrnambool Show Gates October 28th:
Gerard Lourey on duty, rugged up and trying to keep warm.
Daybreak had 12 members attend to help out with the Show gates for Rotary Club of Warrnambool. Although very windy, the show was well supported by the public. We should make approx. $625 for our effort, thanks to everyone who turned up. Much appreciated.
Noorat Showgates. November 18th:
We have been approached again by RC Warrnambool to be ticket collectors at the Noorat showgates,
Very easy 3 hour shifts.
