Hello Daybreakers,

I hope everyone had an enjoyable Valentine’s Day. There was very little reference to it at this weeks meeting, perhaps that’s a good thing.
Not long now until our Long Lunch, and bookings must be made by this coming Sunday. Jenny has reasonable numbers at this stage, but we’re hoping to be sold out. A huge that you goes our to Matt Henderson from Star Printing, for printing our Long Lunch tickets at no charge. Thanks also to Watto for his design and the effort in “email tag” with Brooke to get the job done.

I asked everyone to mark the club’s 20th Anniversary in their calendars – 28th July, as it will come around soon enough, and we would like to see all involved in this special occasion.

Ian McKay has made his choice and will transfer his membership to the RC of Mount Gambier Lakes. I look forward to catching up with him at Conference.

We watched an inspiring video from this years International Assembly by Bradford R. Howard, talking about Rotary’s brand, Essence, value and voice. Some conversation ensued about methods to recruit new members and what it means to be a part of Rotary. The video is able to be watched on the My Rotary Website, and I encourage anyone who missed it to take a look. It goes for 16 minutes, but is a good reminder of why you may have joined Rotary and reasons to take pride in that. I encourage you all to talk about Rotary to the people you encounter during your day, so the general public have a better understanding of what Rotary is.

We will have guest speakers for the next three weeks. Next week Brad and Kim will share the story that led them to adopting a child.

Next Week : Continental breakfast- $17.00
Please send apologies through to Steve on 0457 926 657 by Midday on the Tuesday.

LAUGHTER, THE BEST MEDICINE

There are women whose thoughtful husbands buy them flowers for no reason. And then there's me. One day I couldn't stand it any longer. "Why don't you ever bring me flowers?" I asked.

"What's the point?" my husband said. "They’ll be dead in about a week."

"So could you," I shot back, "but I still like having you around."

A guy had been feeling down for so long that he finally decided to seek the aid of a psychiatrist.
He went there, lay on the couch, spilled his guts then waited for the profound wisdom of the psychiatrist to make him feel better.

The psychiatrist asked me a few questions, took some notes then sat thinking in silence for a few minutes with a puzzled look on his face.

Suddenly, he looked up with an expression of delight and said, “Um, I think your problem is low self-esteem. It is very common among losers.”

A teenager brings her new boyfriend home to meet her parents. They are appalled by his haircut, his tattoos, his piercings.

Later, the girl's mom says, "Dear, he doesn't seem to be a very nice boy."

"Oh, please, Mom!" says the daughter. "If he wasn't nice, would he be doing 500 hours of community service?"

No one is more cautious than a first-time parent. After our daughter was big enough to ride on the back of my bicycle, I bought a special carrier with a seat belt and got her a little helmet.

The day of the first ride I put her in the seat, double-checked all the equipment, wheeled the bike to the end of the driveway, carefully looked both ways and, swinging my leg up over the crossbar, accidentally kicked her right in the chin.

A woman went up to the bar in a quiet rural pub.  She gestured alluringly to the bartender who approached her immediately.
She seductively signaled that he should bring his face closer to hers.
As he did, she gently caressed his full beard.

"Are you the manager?" she asked, softly stroking his face with both hands.

"Actually, no," he replied.

"Can you get him for me? I need to speak to him," she said, running her hands beyond his beard and into his hair.

"I'm afraid I can't," breathed the bartender. "Is there anything I can do?"

"Yes.. I need for you to give him a message," she continued, running her forefinger across the bartender's lip and slyly popping a couple of her fingers into his mouth and allowing him to suck them gently.

"What should I tell him?" the bartender managed to say.

"Tell him," she whispered,

"There's no toilet paper, hand soap, or paper towels in the ladies room."
