My thanks go to Alison for giving us an engaging update on her recent trip to Nepal, Alison talked about fitness levels and walking up 3500 plus steps one day as she rose an extra 1000 meters above sea level to 2200 meters. A list was circulated for those who wish to attend Warrnambool Easts hosting of Mark Balla on November 29th. At this stage we have 11 members and one partner attending. If you wish to attend, please let me know on or before next Wednesday so I can give Maggie an update for catering purposes. Our guest speaker on Wednesday 14th will be Dr. Davidson the good Doctor will be talking about prostate cancer. Movie profit update: Sue has followed up the ticket sales and asked treasurer Ian to invoice one club for their ticket sales. The gross profit from the movie now stands at $4535:00, an amazing start to Foundation Month. Here is part of a letter sent by RI President Barry Rassin. “You can end Foundation Month on a charitable note by participating in Giving Tuesday, 27 November. Rotary will be joining thousands of other organizations worldwide for a global day of giving. Our new online giving platform has made it easier than ever to give to the Foundation, and you can easily notify someone of a gift made in their honor via email or by printing and delivering a customized notification yourself. We usually refer to The Rotary Foundation as Our Foundation. Unlike most charities, our Foundation is truly Our Foundation, because it is both supported by the Rotary family, and supports the work we do. This year, our Foundation has already approved 222 district grants, with $31.9 million USD in total funding, and 41 global grants, with $11.9 million in total funding. Our ambitious goals to grow our endowment and our annual giving set the stage for a larger, more effective, more sustainable Rotary—that will Be the Inspiration for generations to come.” The Portland Rotary Clubs are hosting the Youth Exchange weekend and would like to invite members to share the evening with them at the Portland Golf Club on Saturday 24th November. Please find the attached flyer. The Membership committee met recently to set targets and agendas for the coming February membership evening. They have started a list of prospective invitees (approx. 22) and ask all members to submit potential names and contact details. Our assembly on November 21st would be a great opportunity to workshop the membership drive. Some of the girls had a great day out on Oaks Day at the Warrnambool races. This photograph was sent fairly early in the afternoon and judging by the empty bottles/glasses on the table the party was about to begin.
 On Monday Liza will be attending the Rotary House AGM, it will be great to get an update on past and future planning. I will be attending a Group 5 meeting on Wednesday Night, if you have any questions for district please let me know. Alison has kindly agreed to chair the subcommittee to organise our Club Christmas party on December 8th. The committee will be discussing how we cater the event including approaching organisations such as Tasty Plate for a quote. Jan is double booked for family commitments on that date but has lots of past data on events and will be passing this information to Alison. Cheers Steve Surfside Program Report Good evening everyone We had 4 males and 1 female attend yesterday afternoon. There were 12 loads of washing done and 11 dryer loads. We spent $46 which will be refunded next week. Bob was the "money man" , Di and Andrew were on the barby. Chez was sorting out clothes, towels and toiletries for those who needed them Eveyone again enjoyed a BBQ, coffee/tea and bickies. I think Bob might have a couple of fines lined up for Wednesday morning They all appreciate what we are doing. Thanks to Chez, Di, Bob and Andrew for giving up their afternoon.
