Hello Daybreakers

This week’s traditional Christmas meeting was held at the home of Andrew and Betty Suggett.  We enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere and the lorikeets helped to make up the numbers.   We had plenty of fun trying to time the taking of the clubs Christmas photo and Ian W was kept fit running about.  Janey took us through a fun session, Sandra and Ian Harper talked about the movies and BBQ rosters. The following will look good in future “down memory lane” days.

Reminders:

  • This Friday (28th) will be the first of our Summer Market BBQ Fundraisers. Please remember your name is on a roster, if you missed the rosters please call Ian Harper 0427941198 Or Sandra 0419468878 to share the load.
  • The first meeting of the new calendar year will be at the Mid City on Wednesday January 9th.

    • If you have a local or international program that you wish the board to review through our adopted policy process, please send your request and program details to either myself or Secretary Mary by January 3rd.
January is Rotary’s Vocational Service Month.   During January, we are encouraged to focus on this important avenue of Rotary service. Vocational Service Month is an opportunity to begin year-long vocational service activities, ranging from Rotarian discussions, community projects and helping fund a vocational education to post-secondary students.

Vocational Service focuses on:
  • Rotarians conducting themselves, their business or profession in accordance with Rotary’s high ethical standards and practices.
  • Promoting, fostering and supporting the ideal of service in the pursuit of ALL vocations. using the highest ethical standards and fair treatment of employers, employees, associates, competitors, and the public.
  • As Rotarians, we are expected to take every opportunity to promote vocational excellence by example and by service to others.

Vocational service is what sets us apart from other service organizations.

LAUGHTER, THE BEST MEDICINE

After nearly 40 years of marriage, Marty was lying in bed one evening, when his wife felt Marty begin to massage her in ways he hadn't in quite some time. It almost tickled as his fingers started at her neck, and then began moving down past the small of her back. He then caressed her shoulders and neck, slowly worked his hand down, stopping just over her stomach.  He then proceeded to place his hand on her left inner arm, working down her side, passing gently over her buttock and down her leg to her calf.

Then, he proceeded up her thigh, stopping just at the uppermost portion of her leg. He continued in the same manner on her right side, then suddenly stopped, rolled over and became silent.

As she had become quite aroused by this caressing, she asked in a loving voice, “Honey, that was wonderful. Why did you stop?”

To which he responded, “I found the remote.”

John is having a bad day.

He tried to button his shirt and the button fell off.

He picked up his briefcase and the handle fell off.

He went to open the door and the doorknob fell off.

Now he's afraid to pee.......

The Perfect Husband

Several men are in the locker room of a golf club. A mobile phone on a bench rings and a man engages the hands-free speaker function and begins to talk. Everyone else in the room stops to listen.

MAN: "Hello"

WOMAN: "Hi Honey, it's me… Are you at the club?"

MAN: "Yes."

WOMAN: "I'm at the store now and I found this beautiful leather coat. It's only $3,000. Is it OK if I buy it?"

MAN: "Sure, go ahead if you like it that much."

WOMAN: "I also stopped by the Lexus dealership and saw the new models. I saw one I really liked."

MAN: "How much?"

WOMAN: "$90,000."

MAN: "OK, but for that price I want it with all the options."

WOMAN: "Great! Oh, and one more thing. I was just talking to Janie and found out that the house I wanted last year is back on the market. They're asking $1,980,000 for it."

MAN: "Then make an offer of $1,900,000.. They'll probably take it. If not, we can go the extra eighty-thousand if it's what you really want."

WOMAN: "OK. I'll see you later! I love you so much!"

MAN: "Bye! I love you, too."

The man hangs up. The other men in the locker room are staring at him in astonishment, mouths wide open.

He turns and asks, "Anyone know whose phone this is?"
