Guest Speaker: Tyson Jakitsch.
PP Ann Barker introducing Tyson.
At Sept. 2nd meeting we listened to an update on Loved & Shared, Tyson said they now have 35 volunteers helping weekly and are still looking for more. Various roles for volunteers are available. Loved & Shared are not Government funded and rely on Philanthropic help or donations from the community.
Loved & Shared operates as a children's items hub in South West Victoria, enabling family support agencies to access essential nursery and children's items at no cost for families experiencing hardship, while accepting community donations and diverting quality items from land fills, in 2025 this equated to 10 tonnes of quality children's items.
In 2025, 421 South West families benefited and 706 children.
They dispersed 2,000 essential packs. Worked alongside 200+ caseworkers from 40+ agencies across the South West of Victoria.
They collect quality items such as Clothing & Footwear.
Cots, prams, and nursery equipment.
Linen, toys and everyday essentials.
The 2027 Long Lunch committee have agreed to again support this worthy cause. Loved & Shared will be the major recipient of funds raised in 2027 with remaining money to be shared locally among other organisations.
