Welcome to 2019 Daybreakers,

Thursday, Friday and Sunday found many of us finishing the calendar year in style.  We were challenged in number but those able to attend worked tirelessly together.

On Thursday we organised the trailer, marquees and tables etc for the Friday BBQ and movie. Sandra’s crew walked Surfside 1 & 2 promoting the movies in the park.

Friday the long day commenced with dropping off the trailer early,  followed by meals on wheels and concluded with the BBQ pack-up and movies in the park drawing to a close.

Sunday was a definite day of rest for some, other members finished off the day by attending at the homeless program.

Sandra reports a reasonable night’s takings from the first movie.  The gate was $505 and the kiosk $545, so a total of $1050.00 before expenses.

The BBQ sold out of burgers and sausages with 2.5 bags of dim sims thrown in with the drinks, the result is also reasonable with takings on the night of $1657.35.

15 members put in around 130 hours of community service over the three days.  Thank you all for your outstanding efforts.

Thursday Morning Serge was an early riser
getting in some practice for our coming
fishing trip, he was very happy with one of the many fish that were landed.

The RC of Warrnambool East have started their annual hole-in-one fundraiser.  Maggie Dwyer has asked all clubs to circulate a request for assistance.  If you have some time to spare over January Please call Ralph, the project director, on 0427692250 or email ralwen@westvic.com.au.

Tony Austen from the RC of Warrnambool has been busy promoting the PNG Water Project. Tony also met with the Acting PNG High Commissioner in Melbourne a couple of weeks ago and was encouraged by the discussion.

I have included the latest updated flier should you wish to get more information.
