On the afternoon and evening of Saturday, December 7th, it was all hands on deck as Daybreakers attended the Rodeo to raise funds for our community. Despite the poor weather, the event was a success overall.
Chris Preston, Glenn Rundell & Wayne McCosh Joined other Rotarians to spread Mulch at the weir site on December 7th.
Our Guest Speaker on December 4th was Barry Moran.
Barry presented an overview of First Aid with emphasis on CPR.
First Aid has a Systematic Approach that everyone should know to ensure you protect yourself in times of emergencies.
DRSABCD is the acronym that ensures your safety and the steps to be taken if we have a casualty that is injured or has a heart attack.
D- Dangers to yourself as number 1 priority then bystanders followed by the casualty.
R- Response of the casualty by pain and verbal stimuli.
S- Send for help '000'.
A- Airway must be clear of mucus, blood and vomit.
B- Breathing, ensure casualty is breathing normally.
C- CPR, Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation. Compressing the chest to circulate the blood to the brain followed by 2 breaths.
D- Defibrillation using an Automated External Defibrillator to restart the heart.
You are the number 1 priority, don't become a casualty youself.

Daybreakers getting ready for action - Wheelie Convoy Community Service Event
All hands on deck at the Wheelie Convoy Community Service Event
From Glenn Rundell - 8 Daybreaker assisted in providing a bbq lunch at Lake Pertobe for the Council organised "Wheelie Convoy" on Wednesday 4 December.
The Wheelie Convoy was instigated by Council to encourage those who have use electric carts, wheelie walkers and other aids to assist their mobility, to get out and give it a go.
The convoy started at the pavilion and participants proceeded along the foreshore promenade to Lake Pertobe where we provided the BBQ lunch.
We cooked sausages and onions as well as vege burgers. Fruit and drinks were supplied by Council.
It was a fine, sunny day and all participants (probably about 120 in number) seemed to enjoy getting out and about on a beautiful day and listening to some music whilst tucking into some lunch.
It was such a success that Council is considering making it an annual event.
