Our Commanding Officer (President’s report).

Our guest last week was Emma Mahony from South West Healthcare who spoke to us about domestic violence and provided us with some sobering statistics on the prevalence of family violence in our community. It was an excellent presentation followed by some thoughtful questions.

On Sunday I attended a seminar in Geelong to qualify our club for District Grants eligibility for the next 12 months. This means if we apply for a District Grant and are successful, the District will match our funding contribution up to a maximum of $3,000. If anyone has a proposal for a District Grant please get in touch with a board member…..I would hate to think my attendance wasn’t necessary!

Two big events at our meeting this week – the Club AGM and

the winning tickets in the Charity Raffle is to be drawn. I know you cannot wait for either of these events.

Our Dinner Auction is on 6 April and Quincy and Crew are busy getting it all together.  Make sure you can attend and please bring friends as well.

Cheers

Lew

Please advise all apologies by 4.30 pm on the Tuesday prior to the following day’s meeting.

Emma Mahony talks about violence against women.

Last week Emma Mahony from South West Healthcare was our guest speaker.  Emma shared with us some of her knowledge and experience of domestic violence and violence against women.  It was a great opportunity for us to learn some more about this disturbing and prevalent problem.  We thank Emma for taking the time to talk to us.

We thank James for this photo.

WCC update.
Central Spoke local government reporter Pip Ritchie brings us this snap of Glendon Dickenson’s work vehicle.  Apparently Glendon is the Warrnambool City Council complaints department.

Thank you to all those who contributed this week.
