Our guest last week was Emma Mahony from South West Healthcare who spoke to us about domestic violence and provided us with some sobering statistics on the prevalence of family violence in our community. It was an excellent presentation followed by some thoughtful questions.
On Sunday I attended a seminar in Geelong to qualify our club for District Grants eligibility for the next 12 months. This means if we apply for a District Grant and are successful, the District will match our funding contribution up to a maximum of $3,000. If anyone has a proposal for a District Grant please get in touch with a board member…..I would hate to think my attendance wasn’t necessary!
Two big events at our meeting this week – the Club AGM and
the winning tickets in the Charity Raffle is to be drawn. I know you cannot wait for either of these events.
Our Dinner Auction is on 6 April and Quincy and Crew are busy getting it all together.Make sure you can attend and please bring friends as well.
Cheers
Lew
