Attendance: Paul noticed Nooka’s scrawled message on the front of the briefcase and kindly manned the door.  He recorded 18 members in attendance, including Hayesey, who was actually having a better time in the room next door.

Meal: The ever-popular fish and chips.

 

Dillo introduced the Pres and the meeting was under way.  Rob advised that;

·       The group C clubs are having a Ten Pin Bowling Night on Friday 26^th of October, 6.30-8.30 pm.  All proceeds to the ‘Say No to Violence’ campaign.

·       The board met last night and completed the Regionalisation Survey, will support the ‘Say No to Violence’ campaign and offer assistance to Wunta.

 

 In other reports;

·       Les reminded members of the Flagstaff Hill Car Parking project on the 5^th of November.

·       Hayesey took a break from the Legacy shin dig to inform us that Warrnambool College had not only collected a large amount of donated goods for Loved and Shared but also donated $3,000 to the charity.  Well done Warrnambool College!

·       Paul reminded members to pay their membership if they haven’t already.

·       Boré informed us Tony Austin will speak about PNG at next week’s meeting.

·       Adam spoke about the ‘Walking Off the War Within’ PTSD awareness event in Warrnambool on Sunday the 29^th of October.  Please consider registering and taking part.  See details below.

·       Adam also spoke about both the regular veterans and families retreats in Warrnambool in mid to late February and a proposed Vasey veterans housing camp also in Warrnambool.  There may be ways that we can assist with these.

·       Hutto thanked all those members who assisted with the recent auction working bee.  He proposed finishing it off at 4.00pm on Wednesday 18^th.  Please bring shovels and rakes if you are able to attend.

·       Hutto also advised the the Thoroughbred Club will hold it’s Jericho lunch on the 1^st of December and the Warrnambool Carnival lunch on the 29^th of November.

·       Importantly, Hutto also advised that the Warrnambool Racing Club have very generously offered to allow us to recycle the cans and bottles from three big racing club events; the May Race Carnival, Woodford Cup and Jericho Cup.  Tomra, the company with the local contract, has already begun installing container recycling vending machines in the region.  This is great news from Hutto and could turn out to be a great fundraiser for the club.

 

The meeting concluded with Malcolm running and excellent fines session based on popular culture events that most people couldn’t remember, often because they hadn’t been born when the event occurred.  Good work Malcolm.
