President's Report.

A great start to 26-27 with a well attended and most enjoyable Changeover Dinner.  Thanks to all, particularly those involved in setting up and running the night - Brendan, Glenn, Pip, Tony, Les and those at the Lady and Bay.

The fines session was next level Tony - brilliantly done.  I need however, to talk to Lindsay re. the tax laws regarding substantial transfer of coins into the fines bucket by a single entity - I think we all know who that is!

A real highlight of the night was the presentation of the Bruce Ludeman (Paul Harris) Award to Greg Allison.  A worthy winner.

And of course the Feral Pig Award Winner - congratulations (redacted)

Thanks to the Board members who have put their hands up this year.  Some for the first time, others again - Glenn, Ian, Jon, Robbo, David, Sam, Francis, Stu, Gerald, Lindsay and Bono.  And Pip of course as Sarge. It’ll be a good year.  We’ll talk more about their roles as the year progresses.

A big thanks to those who have retired from their positions - Boré, Greg, Matt - for their many year’s valuable service.  I should note, that stepping off does not preclude you from coming back on!

See you Wednesday!

Paul

At the changeover dinner Les declared he was sick of fire hydrants and that Paul needs pictures of bridges to mark his presidential year.  Paul asked me to include a picture of a bridge in this section after his report.  I have included a conventional three unit example typically constructed from veneered zirconia. - Ed.

First meeting coming up with the new president in charge. I wonder what lofty goals he has in mind for us this year.

Minutes.

Attendance: Nooka reported twenty-two members, zero visiting Rotarians, and zero guests in attendance.
Meal: Fish and chips.
David launched proceedings with a Lone Ranger joke and then Robbo chipped in with one of his own.  Bono then stepped up to the mic to report;
  • Welcome to Gracey on his return.
  • 49 have confirmed for the changeover.  6.30pm start at the Lady Bay Hotel.  The District Governor, Tonie Thiel, will be joining us.
In other reports;
  • Pip informed us that Bim has been awarded a fellowship with the Royal Historical Society of Victoria.  Congratulations Bim.
  • Tony D thanked those who have contributed to the Central Spoke over the past year.  Particularly, thanks to Lew, Ron, Brendan and Boré for their regular and excellent contributions.  Send contributions to bulletin.warrnamboolcentral@gmail.com
  • Quincey announced he has a new grandson in Toronto.  Another supporter for the mighty Blue Jays.  Congratulations Malcolm.
David then gave us an excellent Irish undertaker joke.  Nooka, back by popular demand, continued his fines session from last week.  David finished off his year as sarg with an Irish golfer joke before drawing the barrel and picking out Robbo’s number.  Hopefully Robbo has now forgiven DJ for all the lawyer jokes earlier in the year.

Ten Years Ago.

Ten years ago, Doug was inducted as our new president and he introduced his new board.  Back in those days we could not afford electricity.
