Attendance: Nooka counted 21 members and 4 guests in attendance. Three of those members had free meal vouchers and Nooka noted ‘I’m sick of it’. Our guests were Adam, Archer, Andrew and Maria.
Complex quadratic equation calculations across four
sheets of paper gave the solution of an attendance of 21.
Meal: A roast to lift the spirits of our hard working Sarg.
Sergeant Lindsay introduced President-elect Matt to kick off proceedings.
In reports;
- Matt wished Greg a happy birthday.
- Paul thanked Sam for standing in as treasurer while he was away. The club will be looking for a new treasurer once Paul becomes president. Please talk to Paul if you can help.

- Gerald advised that the Bega Koroit vocational tour date is still to be determined.
- Paul reminded members to rsvp in the Stack App for Brendan’s birthday party. It may be one of the few opportunities you ever get to meet our president in person.
- Matt reminded members to bring $5 next week for the Melbourne Cup sweep.
- Nooka had nothing to report on the Footy Tipping competition and the probability or timing of any pay-out.

Greg then introduced Archer, who spoke about his interest in mathematics and his desire to go to the National Maths Summer School. Archer is doing maths methods and specialist maths at Brauer College. He has a passion for maths and dreams of attending the Oxford University maths department. Archer has been accepted into the NMSS this January, and is looking for financial assistance to attend the event. The NMSS will not only provide maths tuition but also careers advice. Archer is particularly hoping to focus on number theory at NMSS.
We thank Archer and his father, Adam, for taking the time to join our meeting and speak to us.
Robbo and Maria then spoke about recent events in Maria’s life. Maria’s family visited the theme park in Brasil that Maria has been wanting to go to for years, without her. This well-known theme park is ‘somewhere in Brasil’. We also learned that Sao Paulo has a large Volkswagen factory, Robbo speaks passable Portuguese and Paul passable Spanish which he thinks is Portuguese. The ex-president of Brasil, Jair Bolsonaro, has been arrested while the current president, Lula, only got elected through corrupt practices. As always here at the Central Spoke, we rely on our legal representation of Robbo to get us out of any libel suits. Maria also spoke about going fast down the Yambuk slide in the rain. Maria recently had dinner with Pip and Bim, and their wives. Naturally, Maria paid.
Robbo returned to the topic of his hatred of Halloween. There are really only two things in the world that Robbo doesn’t like; Halloween and men calling each other bro. Ignoring the fact that the second one seems a bit racist against New Zealanders, Robbo does seem to be getting a bit too worked up about Halloween. Chillax bro, Halloween is just families with young children out having a bit of harmless fun.
We thank Maria and Robbo for their presentation.
Robbo's questioning of Maria quickly turned into a hostile witness cross-examination.
We had some fines from the floor before the barrel was drawn. Robbo, who was already enjoying a free meal, won another lunch voucher much to Nooka’s disgust.
