Our Club extends our mateship to Francis and Jacinta, as Francis' Dad has passed away. Also to Gerad and Felicity also who say their final farewell to Gerad's sister this week too.
District Assembly is on this coming weekend...https://rotary9780.org/event/district-confererce-2023/ head on up to Albury for a fantastic weekend. I won't make it but I hope some of you can go. And, the RI Convention is on in Melbourne coming up in May, the keynote speakers have been announced, it's a terrific line up.
The Rotary journey has these milestone moments every year, it is a continuing journey and can't be measured until it's fulfilled it's time and place for each individual themselves. This club has made a tonne of difference. Perhaps take a moment and jot down your favourite times, projects, learnings, the things that made you feel most connected to 'service about self' and the club. I'd be really keen to hear how being a Rotarian makes a difference to you personally.
It was great to learn about Rowan's bent for Philosophical Questions during the U3A presentation last week.
Golden Community Raffle is complete - WELL DONE BOB who gave that months of work, that is a massive contribution to the community and club's good endeavours. Thank you Bob.
Recently the club was pleased to welcome James ‘Bim’ Affleck as a member. James is a man of many talents; farmer, soldier, author and historian just to name a few. This week Boré, who describes James as ‘easy to characterise’, welcomes James in the traditional way.

On Saturday 11th march a small group gathered at the francis foundation to clean up the garden waste from the previous 2 working bees.
It took more effort to unload the waste than it took to load it!!
Thanks to all who helped get the garden back in control and Mal for organising the cats.
A quick check of the scales at Barton's showed we moved 600kg of garden waste.
I was so motivated I took to our garden on the weekend. Looks like the gym has been paying off!

Rotary Horse Racing report.
Our good friends at Wilde Racing have nominated Sirileo Miss for the Group 1 Australian Cup at Flemington this Saturday. There is a lazy three million large on offer, so it might be worth hooking up the float and taking our ungulate to Melbourne for a gallop. If Sirileo’s last run is any guide, I would not entirely put it past her.

Ten years ago, ‘Pinky’ Kemp ducked out for a bit of ‘take away’ for dinner. It appears he accidentally shot his dog. However he didn’t accidentally shoot any of his friends, and you couldn’t always say that about Pinky and his hunting trips.
