We had a great turn out for the first meeting of the Rotary Year, all be it one week early (first time I've been early for anything!). Amrica got her SGT boots on and drilled the members with a very puzzling riddle, of which the answer might need revealing this week...

Peter Worland, whom nominated Bob for his OAM, joined us for lunch all the way from Sydney, along with Mick and Sharon Little, and my little 'Assistant President', Elliott.

Guest Speaker Mick Little shared his story about the mental health impacts of his job in VICPOL. Much of Mick's role included gathering evidence and photographing scenes that noone should ever need to witness. He spoke honestly and openly about decisions and policies that lead him to struggle with Post Traumatic Stress.

We passed around the fines paddle and have a few extra dollars thanks to his talk, which if there are no objections, Mick suggested www.code9ptsd.org.au to receive the extra dollar-bucks. Code9 are a Blue Ribbon organisation of volunteers - helpers helping helpers best they can - please check out their website.

Mick also forgot to say that now that he is Secretary of the RSL he extends and open invitation for anyone to drop in anytime say hi. His vision is that all members of the community would come to the RSL and feel safe. He shared a truly vulnerable story and showed his sheer resilience in doing so. I have let Mick and Sharon know of the feedback I was given and also extended our joint invitation for them to join us at club lunch or request support for community projects when they wish.

We welcomed back Matt Northeast who wants to clarify that he had Diverticulitis NOT Diverted-testicular-itis! Glad you are on the mend Matt!

Lew will be Fines Master this week and Pres. Elect Garry is covering me while I am away this week and next. If you are able to lend a hand setting up and packing up at the end of meetings that would be great.

And as alway, RSVP on the Stack Teams App by 12.30pm Tuesday so that Brendan can let the venue know.
