• Rob advised members that Matt has kindly agreed to be president next year if required.  However, Matt is a very busy man with a business to run and three school aged children.  If anyone was willing to step in and fill the role it would be greatly appreciated.
• Bob is distributing two raffle books to each member.  Members can either sell the tickets or buy them themselves. All proceeds from the tickets we sell directly go directly to the club and, amongst other things, help cover the cost of running the raffle.
• Bob also asked members to talk about the Golden Community Raffle to any sporting or community organisation that they have contact with.  We want to encourage community groups to use the raffle as a fundraising option.
• Les is organising a working bee for us to assist with the local Beach Patrol.  Stay tuned.
• Les is also organising the Hospital Auxiliary barbecue on the 3^rd of March, 3.00 to 7.00pm.  Trev and his band will be playing, Hutto has probably already purchased the bread, and it should be a great afternoon.  Volunteers will be needed to assist on the day.
• Brendan advised that we are finally getting a good secretary as Glenn steps into the role.  If any newer or older members are looking for a Rotary polo shirt please let Brendan know because he is about to put in an order.

 

Thanks to Jon (ACE radio) and Matt (The Standard) our pharmaceutical blister pack recycling scheme has been receiving good press coverage over the past week.  ACE radio, ABC radio, and The Standard have all covered the story and helped us promote the project tot he public.  We seem to have been generating a lot of positive comment on social media as well.  A very big thank you to Brendan for making the time to be the public face of our club in The Standard article.

Rotary Dress Code.

There was a time when Rotary was an august institution with a strict dress code.  All of that has gone to hell in a handbasket of course.  Fortunately, we still require members to wear shoes and socks.  No doubt the board will need to review the dress code after  Boré turned up in ‘white socks’ this week.  Also demonstrated in this photo are the pair of brown leather Hush Puppies that Boré first purchased in 1837.

Over the recent months Bruce has been noticed that he has been on a lean when driving his vehicles. After much investigation he determined the cause of the lean was his wallet. He has now rectified this issue with a couple of recent purchases!
