Attendance: Nooka counted 21 members present with two guests; visiting Rotarians Mardi and John Shephard from the Rotary Club of Langwarren.
Meal: We had another Lindsay Bullivant holiday special; roast beef with vegies, gravy and a bread roll. Excellent. Somebody ate the Tickler’s roast, but there was debate about who that was.
After witnessing Melbourne’s goal kicking the previous weekend, Dillo was in no mood to tell a joke and simply introduced the President. Rob spoke about regionalisation and invited members to read about this change in the District website.

· Bob is planning a combined awards night and Christmas dinner. Stay tuned.
· Robbo is hopping a new member will be inducted soon.
· Robbo is also planning to approach businesses with a corporate membership proposal very soon.
· Bob announced that the Golden Community Raffle will be run again this year, with the timing of the draw possibly capturing the transition from the cricket season to the football season.
· Les informed us that the Wreckfest Flagstaff Hill car parking project will go ahead.
· Les is also planning a Beach Patrol working bee.
· Gerald is approaching schools about the traditional year 6 end of year awards.
· Brendan proposed a member welfare working bee before Christmas.
· Dillo invited members to the Hospice benefit dinner on October 19th in the Matilda room. $170 per head. Talk to Dillo if you would like to go.
Our guest speaker was Mardi Shephard from the Rotary Club of Langwarran. District 9820 are about to be forcibly amalgamated and are holding their last District Conference in Warrnambool next February. The Rotary Club of Langwarran will also be closing this year after 42 years of service.
The conference will be held on February 24th, 25th and 26th next year. Mardi asked for our assistance with marshals for a walk down Liebig Street on the Friday morning and with car parking on the Saturday morning.
Father Scott conducted and excellent fines session based on the life of the late Ron Barassi. We also learned that Les played footy with Cowboy Neil and Father Scott played in a premiership with Garry Ablett Snr.
