Myeloma Walk.
Last week I stood on my signal hill and peered out across Warrnambool. In the distance I could hear Bob McMillan rhythmically beating on a drum in his back yard. Soon after, puffs of smoke began to rise out of Bob’s garden. The signs were unmistakable; Bob was sending us a submission for the Central Spoke. We thank Bob for the following report on the recent Myeloma Walk, including some excellent daguerreotypes of the event.
Bob reports.
The walk was a great success with about 90 registered walkers enjoying perfect morning sunshine. We were honoured with the presence of the Myeloma Australia CEO and his wife. He came down to Warrnambool for the event and spoke before the commencement of the walk. My brother, Peter McMillan, who is a director of the Vedmore Foundation announced on the day that they would donate another $6,000 to tyhe Myeloma Foundation, which is the third lot of $6,000 they have donated to the foundation. We had five Rotary members on the wlk and other make donations.
