A great meeting again with lots of reports from directors. The club is very busy at the moment as the board rolls out there plans for the year. It was great to have Denis Napthine as our guest speaker last Wednesday, as he continues to do great work in our community. Well done Les for organising this. The D G visits us this Wednesday, so it should be an interesting day. I look forward to seeing you all Wednesday

Denis speaks to Club.
Last week former Premier Denis Napthine was kind enough to speak to our club. Denis has been preparing a report on education in regional and remote Australia. Denis has produced a number of very practical suggestions which we hope will be adopted by the Government.
Boré’s view.
Our guest speaker Denis Napthine has long been a friend or our club, and has been our guest speaker periodically over many years. Denis felt the need to ask for 'Chatham House rules' when talking to our club last week. I have no idea why.
World Polio Day.
I have been talking to Sue Cassidy about the format for Daybreaks breakfast next week. The idea is for their club to do the catering with all profits going to the polio program. There will be a speaker and possibly some polio sufferers in attendance. The meeting is open to Rotarians, partners and friends.
The breakfast leads into a polio seminar being held at the Lady Bay that morning.
Attendees are asked to pay direct to Daybreak and to let me know so I can firm up numbers by next Thursday. (See details in flyer below.)

Ten years ago, The Compass took our exchange student, The Stig, to the football. Surprisingly StKilda had a win and, to celebrate, Matt bought Oscar a pot of frothy apple juice.
