President's Report.

I think we have the potential to raise some significant funds with the Warrnambool Racing Clubs offer to recycle cans and bottles from the May Race Carnival, Jericho & Woodford Cups. All this has come about due to the great work of our own Hutto and a small committee of myself, Robbo, Tony and Hutto will be meeting sometime with the Warrnambool Racing Club to work through the details. I have seen one of the transfer stations and its not going to be a five minute job as each can / bottle needs to be scanned in to the system plus we have to work out how we are going to pick everything up, but I can see enormous potential for fund raising.

Most of the Group C Rotary Clubs met at the Warrnambool Ten Pin Bowling Alley last Friday to have some fun and also raise money for the Say No To Family Violence Campaign. The event was organised by the Rotary Club of Cobden and our club was represented by Bore, Les and me with Bore and Les forming a team against a couple of Warrnambool Sunrise members. I didn’t bowl as I intended to walk the following day, and if I had bowled I would have been a cripple – anyone got some spare knees?  There was just over 30 Rotarians and friends present with over $1,000 raised towards the campaign.

I haven’t had any luck with the search for a replacement secretary yet – please give this some thought.

Where does time go? – we are now a third of the way into this Rotary Year!

Boré and Les go bowling.

Our club was ably represented by Les and Boré at last Friday's District Group bowling night.  Our President has kindly sent us these snaps of the action.
Les hurls one down the lane.
Better luck next time Les.
The spectators had to be ready for a crowd catch with Boré bowling.

Boré’s view.

As mentioned, Boré went ten pin bowling with Les last Friday.  He was impressed with Les’ technique and full commitment to the sport.

We thank Boré for another great cartoon.

Minutes.

Your correspondent missed last week's meeting which means almost certainly, valued reader, you know at least as much about the meeting as I do.  Robbo and Matt were very kindly sent me these snaps of Chris Wicks informing and entertaining the club.

This week Ron brings us his exercise plan.

Ten Years Ago.

As mentioned last week, ten years ago our club was holding the annual post-auction car rally.  Here are some more snaps from the 2013 event.

Incidentally, if you always lusted after our Charter President’s old silver convertible BMW, it (or one exactly like it) is currently parked by the side of the road in Mortlake with a 'for sale' sign scribbled across the windshield.  Your welcome.
