Attendance: Lew recorded ‘a few but not many’ members in attendance. Guests and visiting Rotarians were as rare as a recent Alistair Clarkson coaching win.
Meal: Pterodactyl schnitzel, chips and salad.
Sarg Dillo introduced our president for the day. This would have been President Rob but he was away. The President-elect, Compass, would have stood in but he was also otherwise occupied. Our immediate past president would have been happy to fill the breach but he was probably up-river somewhere. Robbo has plenty on his plate and was not available on the day. Fortunately the bottle of the barrel was scraped and yours truly was pulled out to stand in as president.

In reports;
· Bob than ked all those who had donated bottles of wine for the recent Myeloma Lunch auction. More wine will be auctioned at a proposed trivia night.
· Paul announced that our AGM has been delayed until the 5th of June due to a delay in the audit process.
· Paul also announced that we are now $3,500 in the black on our container recycling scheme once all expenses have been considered. This excludes any funds received from the Mavis Trigg Trust.
· Pip advised us that past exchange student Leah Constantine is planning to return to Warrnambool to live and work for twelve months. She has secured a job in Melbourne that she can mostly do remotely from Warrnambool. We look forward to catching up with Leah again.
· Glenn asked members to inform him if they need a Rotary polo top. He will be submitting a new order soon.
· Bob advised that the container recycling debrief will occur Tuesday week (28th May) at Hutto’s place. Interested members should stay tuned.
· Bob also advised that Chris McEwan is struggling a bit at the moment. Our thoughts remain with Chris and Robbo.
· Bob reported that Rotten is out in front in the footy tipping with 62. Do we assume that Ron has stopped tipping the Pussy Cats recently? The Voice is on 61, The Compass is on 57, as is O’Reilly.
Gracey then interviewed Glenn Marler. Glenn was born in Hawthorn and attended Auburn Primary School before the family moved to Blackburn where he attended Blackburn High. Despite the location of his birth, Glenn grew up supporting Collingwood. He batted and bowled for the Balwyn Cricket Club and played on the wing for Blackburn in the Hawthorn Districts League. Glenn has two older brothers and is married to a Canadian who he met in the UK. Glenn worked in finance and gained an accounting degree and is qualified in HR. He has also run three marathons, which is three more than Bob and most other members (excluding Les). He has retired to Warrnambool and is about to start a renovation on his house. We thank Glenn for sharing his story with us.
The Golden Community Raffle was then drawn for 2024. Bob announced that more than $40,000 has been pumped into local community and sporting groups as a consequence of this project. Bob has plans to seek support from a philanthropic trust to boost the first prize and make next year’s Golden Community Raffle bigger and better than ever. Glenn had the honour of drawing out this years winners. Third prize was won by a J. Hanrahan, second prize by Ern Huilim, and the converted first prize was snagged by a Mr Bob Dillon. Congratulations to our lucky winners. A big thank you to Bob and all those who helped organise and run another successful Golden Community Raffle.
