President's Report.

This week I'm writing the report early as I'm about to get on an aeroplane and fly to Albury to tackle the fire near Corryong for a few days. I should be back for the meeting on Wednesday.

We had our first meeting for 2026 at the bocce rink at Lake pertobe. Thanks to Surf for organising the food and sauce! I was about to meet Surf at IGA to get the food when my brigade got a fire call so I couldn't help. Thanks Surf for organising this.
The day was very hot and we had a general consensus that we would just look at the bocce rink and not actually have a game.

On Friday we said our farewell to Maria at my place. It was a great evening with some Rotarians and host families attending.

I will see you all on Wednesday where we will hopefully still have Commander Ferguson talk on the fire season. This is very much dependant on what is happening on the fire front.

Keep cool and stay safe.

Regards

President Bono

Farewell to Maria.

Last Friday various Rotarians and friends of Maria gathered at Linda and Brendan's to farewell Maria.  Maria has been a terrific exchange student and we wish her every success as she returns home to continue her studies and her life.  Greg presented Maria with an Akubra hat before thanking Maria's host families for their efforts and thanking Linda and Brendan for hosting the farewell.

Even the koala came out to wish Maria well.
