Attendance: After teaching Pip how to get free coffee and biscuits from the pokies room, Nooka presented his combined attendance and footy tipping report.  In a result that even Price Waterhouse Coopers think is a bit dodgy, Nooka has himself still on top in the footy tipping.  Robbo got seven by tipping after the event and Bim apparently gets his selections from the Channel even weather presenter.  Nooka reckons he is doing well in the footy tipping partly because he is no longer wasting as much time looking at Jane Bunn’s tips.  In conclusion, Nooka counted 25, which was close enough.  We had a visiting Rotarian in the form of Tony Henderson from Timaru in New Zealand.

Meal: Corned beef with a mustard sauce and roast vegies.  Good stuff.

In reports;

·       James spoke about the moving memorial to Chris Hayes and again offered our support to Peter.

·       James also noted the passing of Linda’s brother and offered our support to Brendan and Linda.

·       Bob reminded board members that we have a combined board meeting next week for both the incoming and outgoing boards.

·       Bob also thanked himself, Boré and Surf for volunteering for the Neil Porter Legacy automotive program.

·       Sam informed us that our treasurer is heading away for three months and he has generously offered to step in.

Tony Henderson from the Rotary Club of Timaru in New Zealand was our guest speaker.  Tony spoke to us about a project involving the collection of furniture factory offcuts.  These timber offcuts are bundled up as either firewood or kindling.  The firewood is distributed free to those in need through social service agencies.  The kindling is also supplied free to those who have trouble cutting their own kindling due to age or disability.  Rotarians and other volunteers meet once a week to prepare the timber.  Thanks to Tony for coming all the way to Warrnambool to present to us.  Thanks to James for hosting Tony in Warrnambool and thanks to Robbo and Chris for showing Tony the Great Ocean Road.
