Attendance: Nooka informed members that he is about to become a social media influencer in the mould of Bec Judd. This is perfect for Nooka, who has plenty of rizz that he can translate into clout. A few collabs to sling some dope dupes and the NPC’s will be going yeet for Nooka’s woke main character energy. What can we say Nooka, IYKYK, am I right?
Anyhow, Nooka counted 25 members in attendance plus Maria. Honestly, I was prepared to accept Nooka’s word, but a couple of members pointed out to me that there were 26 members in attendance plus Maria. Nooka doesn’t even need to be on social media to get trolled.
Nooka has the rizz the gen Z's go yeet for.
Meal: Roast. Very nice. Unfortunately, Linsday was away putting in the hard yards for the tennis club. I hope they appreciate his sacrifice.
Pip opened the meeting with a classic toast. It isn’t one I would have made because if the chef overhears it he is going to spit in your meal for sure. Ron then upped the ante by toasting ‘past and present district governors'. This was magnanimous given that at least one of them has tried to have Ron kicked out of Rotary.
David stepped up with the traditional lawyer joke before introducing President Bono. Brendan advised us;
- Brendan and some volunteers will be completing the Brighton RC project by taking goods to Colleraine on Saturday.
- Brendan will be guest speaker at the RC of Brighton to explain to them how the donated goods were distributed. Well done Brendan.
- Our can sorting trailer is progressing, the hope still being that it will be available for the Jericho Cup. We are putting together a list of volunteers for can sorting at this race meeting.
- We will also be sorting cans at the Red Hot Summer Tour, Saturday January the 17th. We will need volunteers to sort on the day.
In other reports;
- Greg and Robbo advised that Maria is no longer at school and is looking for activities between now and January 12th. Please consider including Maria in your activities.
- Lew informed us Rotary House is now 12 years old and has a 50% occupancy rate, with two thirds of those coming from the Base Hospital and the other third from the Cancer Care Centre. Rowan noted that Rotary House had a lot of input from our club, with Rowan being the builder and Bill and Rob C. on the steering committee. Les will be attending the 100th anniversary of the RC of Ballarat and reminded members that the first Rotary House was his idea and built in Ballarat 25 years ago. Well done Les.
Maria then gave us an update on her exchange. She is currently trying to achieve her bronze life saving award and is taking swimming lessons at Aquazone (another local facility our club contributed to greatly).
The meeting was rounded out by some fines and the barrel draw. Greg, wearing the number 1 jersey possibly because he was a former number 1 draft pick, collected the free meal voucher.
