Rotary Horse Racing Report.
Chipilly went to down to Melbourne last Wednesday to compete in a race at Sandown. This followed her dominant win at Terang several weeks earlier.
Watching one of our horses start poorly, run at the back of the field, and finish well off the pace is like wearing an old pair of shoes; you know it isn’t great, but it feels familiar and comfortable. Chipilly’s recent spectacular win was like a new pair of shoes; fancy but it also felt strange.
As Chipilly lined up at Sandown punters had her, quite sensibly, at very long odds. She got away very poorly, ran at the back of the field for the journey, and finished well off the pace. Comfortable shoes, a cup of Milo, under the doona on the couch. So relaxing. Maybe Sunny von Bülow level relaxing.
