Attendance: I can tell you who wasn’t in attendance this week; anybody who knew how to use our eftpos machine. Lew kindly stepped into the breach and recorded seventeen members in attendance, fifteen of whom paid. The non-payers were a solicitor and a vicar, so it might be difficult to collect the debt in this life or the next.
Meal: Crumbed fish with lemon and tartare sauce, salad and, once again, the world’s yellowest chips. The chips were clearly more yellow than the lemon. Yellow Lego is slightly less yellow than the bowlo’s chips. Good stuff.
Dillo told a very clean joke about three blokes going to the toilet and we were on our way. President Rob reported that he enjoyed Boré’s cartoon of himself before inviting reports;
· Rob announced plans to hold a board meeting next Thursday. These plans did not survive the meeting.
· Dillo informed members that Matt was having a kidney operation. He also informed us that Matt, who is currently running the footy tipping contest, is claiming that he tipped nine last week. I feel like the surgeons may not be the only ones taking the piss. We wish Matt a speedy recovery.
· Robbo, who stepped in for Matt, who stepped in for Bob, who stepped in for Nooka, gave us a footy tipping report. Robbo, now that he is in charge, was able to report that he has cleared out on top, with Dillo in second place and the President rounding out the top three.
· Gracey suggested members call Nooka ‘if you have time to waste’.
· Robbo noted that Adam and James had appeared on the ABC’s ‘Back Roads’ last Monday, which can be viewed on iView.
Adam gave us an update on his current work and an upcoming project. He has organised for the Australian National Veterans Arts Museum (ANVAM) to launch the book ‘Persona’ in Warrnambool next week. Daybreak are supporting Adam with ten members attending the event. Hopefully a good number of our members will be there. See flyer below.
