Minutes.

Meal: Lindsay did not eat with us because he wanted to order the roast of the day off the menu.  We were served a roast.  Priceless.

Sgt Bob introduced our stand in President (yours truly) and we were under way.  In reports;

·       Bob announced our plan to have a social bowls night next Thursday at City Memorial Bowls Club in Cramer Street.  The plan is to meet at the club, wander over and have a look at the Albert Park revegetation site, then return to the club for a meal and some lawn bowls.

·       Hayesey reminded members of the Vocational Visit next Wednesday morning.  The plan will be to meet at 9.00 and car pool to the first business.

·       Boré informed us that October is ‘Polio Month’. 

·       Bob announced that we have received an excellent application for the myeloma nurse scholarship.

·       Lew will be handing around the ‘Giving Up the Gaspers’ pledge sheet next week.  Give until it hurts Phillip Morris International.

·       Nooka informed members that, in Garry’s absence, he is acting as assistant treasurer.  He has been trying, unsuccessfully, to get the footy tipping money off Garry.  Robbo has not yet completed his cross examination of the witness.

Gracey gave us an excellent account of his Darwin to Cairns trip in a motor home.  Apparently a motor home over-filled with oil is not the ideal vehicle choice for travelling through remote Australia.  Gracey was helped with a mechanical problem, that is too much oil, at Three Ways by a serendipitous encounter with Jamie Veal’s speedway truck.  No doubt Gracey can thank the Veal family in person at SWI next Wednesday morning (although your correspondent has been told it was actually Jamie’s father-in-law driving the truck at the time). 

Pip conducted an excellent fines session based on ‘have you been paying attention’, which no one had been.  The barrel was drawn and Tim theoretically won a bottle of wine.  With a private function separating us from our wine stash, in practice Tim took home nothing.
