Meeting at the Vic Hotel.

Due to circumstances beyond our control, we have had to change the location of our meeting to the Victoria Hotel this week.  Meals are $20 and you can order what you like from the menu.  Drinks at bar prices.  Wednesday, 12.30 for 1.00pm as usual.

Tony's Tribulations.

Greetings fellow Rotarians.  

Last Friday we enjoyed a relaxed evening at the Tennis Club.  Thanks to Robbo for organising the evening and thanks to Lindsay for cooking dinner. 

This week we will be meeting at the Vic Hotel.  I hope to see you there.  It now seems almost certain that we will need to find a new meeting venue.  Bob McMillan and I will do some research tomorrow and come back to the club with options.

Gary Askew and his committee have been doing a mountain of work on The Bool Music and Wine Festival.  Tickets are on sale now.  Please promote this event to people you know who may be interested.

The Peace Concert is in limbo at the moment.  Everyone seems to agree it is a fantastic event.  However, as with everything in a volunteer organisation, it only happens if people volunteer to run it.  The board is currently exploring our options for reviving the Peace Concert.  Please let myself or one of the other board members know if you would like to be involved.

Now that all these restrictions have unexpectedly ended, Sashi and I are proposing to host the club for our traditional Christmas get together.  We are proposing to get together on Saturday 18th December.  Bring a salad or a desert and BYO drinks.  I know it is short notice, but hopefully you will be able to join us.

Capital letters? Who uses them anymore?

Lew sent us another contribution this week.  Unusually, our censor Robbo gave it the thumbs up.  Robbo should know too; in his professional life he was an expert at litigating exactly this type of case.  Lew writes;
