Attendance: Nooka had shaved the beard off and was back to rocking his Alf Garnett/Tobias Funke moustache look this week. He noted Bono was looking good in his ‘recycled clothing’ before reporting 21 members and 1 guest, Maria, in attendance.
Meal: Fish and chips with salad. Excellent as always.
David launched the meeting with and excellent account of Robbo sensitively handling a divorce client. David then introduced our President, Brendan, who has sported a jacket two weeks in a row now. By summer Bono will be fighting fires in a tuxedo. Brendan reported;
- We will assist the 6Cs on November 7th. We will need quite a few trailers and volunteers. Register your intention in the Stack App.
- Members of the RC of Brighton will be coming down to assist us on the 7th. Hopefully we can find billets for them.
- Brook McLeod is once again looking to send some local students to the National Youth Science Forum. It will cost $3,065 per student and she is looking for clubs to offer financial support. No doubt our board will consider how we can help.
- Our joint meeting with the other Warrnambool clubs is on the 24th of September at the RSL.
- Our next Wednesday meeting, the 10th, will be at the RSL.

- Matt advised us we have now sponsored a Story Dogs team. See below.
- Matt spoke about the possibility of us collecting cans at the summer night markets. The consensus seemed to be that it would be a lot of work for very little reward.
- Matt also spoke about a local resident who suffered considerable damage to her garden in the recent storm. We might organise a working bee to help her out.
- Nooka advised that he might give us the footy tipping results next week or the week after.
Maria then gave us an update on her exchange experience. She has a full diary of upcoming events, including a trip to Mount Hotham, which will be the first time she has ever seen snow. Regrettably she cannot find time to attend school between now and the school holidays.
Robbo gave us an excellent presentation on his recent trip to Broome. Robbo was denied service at a bottle shop after the manager advised him ‘your I.D. card will identify you as a problem drinker’. Chris and Robbo visited a pearl farm. Chris was very taken with a pearl necklace, but Robbo could not fit it into the budget after he bought himself a golf shirt.
We had some lively fines from the floor before the barrel was drawn and Bob walked away a winner.
