Minutes.

First of all, let me just say that it is exciting just to be taking minutes for a lunch meeting at the central Court again.  We do thank our new hosts Heidi and Paul for allowing us to meet at their venue.

Attendance: Nooka reported 15 members in attendance.  The other 17 members at the meeting appreciated Nooka’s continued diligence on the door.

Meal: Paul kicked us off with the classic bangers and mash with gravy and a classy piece of rosemary for garnish.

Sgt Paul got the show on the road.  Your correspondent performed his duties of President by asking the Rotarians present to remember to r.s.v.p if they were one of the Rotarians not present on the day.  In reports;

·       Hayesey explained to members the work experience plan.

·       Matt explained to members the combined Warrnambool Rotary clubs’ plan, in cooperation with South West Healthcare, to provide a thank you cup of coffee to all the staff who are helping our community through this pandemic.  The project will also give a much-needed boost to local businesses who have been doing it tough.

·       Matt also informed members about a plan to help fit out the old ‘a special gift’ premises near Stiffy Guyette’s as part of a new charity initiative.

·       Rob gave us an update on the Bool Wine and Music Festival on behalf of Garry.  Rob reminded members we will need many volunteers on Sat 15^th Jan, Sun 16^th Jan and Mon 17^th Jan.  Keep your diaries free on these days please.

·       James confirmed we will share three umbrellas with RSL active at the Jericho Cup.  Members attending will be asked to chip in $27 in addition to any course admission fee to cover the cost of the umbrellas.  Should be a great day, it is just a pity that the extensive stables of Warrnambool Central Racing almost certainly won’t have a runner on the day.

We had plenty of O’Brien time, which seemed appropriate for our first week back at the Central Court.  There were some excellent fines from the floor that were only marred when it was realised that our Charter President still has immunity from fines.  The barrel was drawn and Hayesey picked up the attractive bottle of wine hand picked by Garry Askew. 

It was odd how what used to feel so familiar now feels quite unfamiliar.  Sorry for the lack of photos; I am out of practice!

South West Healthcare fundraiser.

We should always be grateful for the work of the wonderful people at South West Healthcare but, in these times, we should be especially grateful.  Alison has kindly sent us this flyer for an upcoming fundraiser.  The movie title seems very appropriate.
